Blogger Interview Series: Netta Marie Woods

Are you ready to get to know a new blogger? I hope you are, because today's interview is with Netta Marie Woods who writes over at Modern Hadassah. Let's get going!

1. What's your favorite book? Who would you recommend it to?

Right now; Villette, by charlotte Bronte.  Women who feel like they are outside society or like old novels. It's beautiful!

2. Are you a coffee or tea drinker? Or both?

Mostly tea. Coffee when I'm in the mood.

3. Do you prefer hand writing or typing?

Hand writing mostly, but since blogging I'm beginning to love to type.

4. Whose your favorite music artist at the moment?

I don't know! Honestly. I thought way too long on this one and still can't pick. Old country, new pop, rap, funk, crooners, whatever the mood is I guess.

5. Any fun facts about yourself that you'd like to share?

I'm a stay at home, homeschooling, mother of four who has a passion for Gods word.

6. What is the meaning behind your blog title?

I chose hadassah (Ester) because I think she is a great picture of the paradox of womanhood. To be necessary, yet a secret. And that's how I feel about my writing. That it's "for such a time as this" in our modern setting, even if I can't see how it will all play out right now.

7. What's your niche? What type of audience do you wish to attract?

Christian biblical application. Christian women, I suppose.

8. What inspired you to start blogging? What inspires you now to keep going?

A love for Gods word and writing. I have always been a writer. A hope of publishing a book about women and scripture. The fire burns in me for it!

9. Where do you see your blog taking you in the next 5 years?

 I hope book writing!

10. What's your favorite social media platform for promoting your posts and interacting with your readers? What so special about it?

Facebook has been the best so far! They have the greatest resources for connecting.

11. What's most challenging for you in being a Christian writer?

So far when I share my heart and pain I've experienced and I'm blatantly attacked for not having a "socially appropriate" view. Persecution can come in the strangest forms sometimes!

12.  What changes has God done in you since you began your blogging career?

I started out so scared. I was afraid that all the people who have never believed in me were right. That I had nothing to give, nothing to say. God has helped me to see all I can give and who I can help through this. He has blessed me and my family.

13.  Have you ever experienced writers block? If so, how do you overcome it when it happens?

Not so much, but if I'm having trouble coming up with something I go to a list that I add to when I'm not writing to give me inspiration. It has quotes and topic ideas, scripture and perspective.

14. What are you favorite blogs to keep up with?

I'm honestly really new to the whole realm of blogs and reading them. I can't say I have favorites yet, but I am really enjoying exploring all that is out there!

15. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out or thinking of starting a blog?

Just do it. I put it off for YEARS because I was overwhelmed and scared and I wish I had just started!
