Meet Mali!

8.27.2016

It's been quite a while since my last post and must I add that a lot has happened since then! I'm pretty sure that just with the title of this post, you already know what this one is about. That's right! I had my baby girl. Just 4 short days of turning 24 years old, I met the most precious human being in the whole wide world. I'm so in love, you guys have no idea! She is going on 3 months on September 11th. I know, I know, "what took me so long to blog about her"? Well, I was just focused on loving her and caring for her that nothing else mattered (and still doesn't) but I figured I've made you all wait long enough, lol.

Meet my beautiful almost 3 month old daughter: Irmaliz Enid Cano

On Friday, June 10th, 2016 I woke up at 4am with mild contractions. I spent 30 minutes in bed hoping the pain would go away since I hadn't realized I was actually in labor. When I got up to use the restroom at 4:30am, I noticed that my mucus plug had completely fallen out. It was time! By 5am, I walked down to my mothers bedroom to let her know I was in active labor. I waited out until 8am to leave for the hospital. I wanted to be sure that this time it was it and I wasn't having a false labor. When I arrived to Methodist Hospital, my contractions were 3 minutes apart. It was such a surreal moment, knowing I was soon going to meet my baby girl, my most prized possession. I was almost 30 full hours in labor, with 3 hours of pushing before Mali made her grand entrance at 8:57am on Saturday, June 11th, 2016. She weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 inches long. It was such a  beautiful moment being able to see the little creature that would kick and punch my insides, and finally be able to lay her on my chest for that first ever bonding moment. I wasn't able to do skin to skin contact with her right away because of some minor complications that we had but once she was began breathing on her own, they brought her right to me.

These couple of months have been the best months of my life (has cliche as it sounds). I have never known such love, ever, and I'm privileged to have been able to experience it.

Xo, Cynthia
